“The cover is better than the original” is our new music section in untitledmx, where each Friday we will share an awesome cover worthy of being called “better than the original song”. This is our first section in English. For our first cover, we chose Jack White’s Love is Blindness. The song was featured on Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby Soundtrack. The original song is from U2’s Achtung Baby (1991). Why it’s better: White’s voice is so powerful that you can feel the pain each time he shouts “love is blindness”. This rendition is completely emotional while U2’s is a little flat. Jack White’s Love is Blindness is how this song should be sung, exploding just at the right time.

Jack White en Bonnaroo

El 14 de junio del 2014 Jack White se presentó en el festival de Bonnaroo en Tennessee. En octubre de ese mismo año, Third Man Records, la empresa discográfica de Jack White, anunció que la presentación de White en Bonnaroo sería el paquete #22 de la Vault. El cual incluía tres viniles en color blanco, azul y negro, el dvd, fotografías, y otros detalles. Cada tres meses TMR lanza un paquete que es una edición especial relacionada con la carrera de White y la envían a sus suscriptores. El concierto empieza en la oscuridad con la banda de White tocando. Sus músicos son Daru Jones (drums), Dominic Davis (upright bass, electric bass), Ikey Owens (piano, keys, B3 organ), Lillie Mae Rischie (fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar), Fats Kaplin (pedal, steel, mandolin), Cory Yants (mandolin, harmónica, piano). Jack White hace su entrada con traje, sombrero y una botella en mano. Dando la espalda al público saluda a su banda como sólo él sabe, tocando una guitarra.
